Pioneered by Celebrity Cruises in conjunction with the artists’ collective Skullmapping, this 3D animation is mesmerizing. Beyond has no less than 18 places to dine, ranging from a steakhouse to a classic French bistro. You’ll emerge into a space that’s flooded with light and filled with tropical plants, creating the feeling of a jungly conservatory. High flying acrobatics, dazzling visual effects, contemporary music, and intricate choreography are leaving audiences wowed on Beyond. The Theatre is technically far superior to anything you’d find on Broadway, with vast high-definition screens, 110 feet wide, forming a backdrop to the dancers.

Located on decks 15 and 14 aft (aft is cruise ship terminology for the rear of the ship), the redesigned Sunset Bar offers 180% more space than on Edge and Apex. The sultry venue wraps around the aft, flowing down to the alfresco area of the Oceanview Cafe. We know our current main dining experience across our fleet is one of the reasons guests sail with us time and time again.

You have to search to find some venues; the Mast Grill is particularly hard to find on the Resort Deck, and many people forget about that healthy choices are available at both the Solarium and the Eden Cafe. Edge-class ships within the Celebrity fleet truly go all out with the entertainment, providing tech-heavy, state-of-the-art, theatrical performances. Element is a show that focuses on the five elements and blends tech with acrobatics and choreography. Penthouse Suites have smaller verandahs, but nearly double the space inside, at 1,378 square feet. There’s a primary bedroom, guest bedroom, two bathrooms, a dressing room, dining area and private hot tub. Lastly, AquaClass staterooms, which also feature Infinite Verandas, are basically Celebrity’s spa-class of staterooms, which means you’ll get more VIP services here, but all will be related to the spa.

Highlights include the 1,892-square-foot Iconic Suite, where you're treated the same views as the bridge with a ton of private outdoor space. There's also a two-story Edge Villa that has fantastic design by Hoppen, as well as its own cute plunge pool. Celebrity Beyond’s wellness offerings are truly spectacular and go beyond just a standard spa and fitness center. Thanks to wellness partnerships with brands like Goop, cruisers will enjoy world-class spa treatments, state-of-the-art training facilities and a range of resources to help you meet all your wellness needs.

There's also plenty of greenery incorporated throughout Celebrity Beyond. After dropping off our luggage, we wandered around a few decks and stumbled upon the Eden restaurant. We were welcomed with a myriad of plants as we walked into the restaurant. In the hallways and elevators, you can find accents of marble incorporated throughout the design aspects. Our balcony cabin features a large king bed, large sofa, vanity, closet and infinite veranda balcony. We were surprised by the tech box on the vanity, which houses multiple outlets and includes USB plugs.

You can feast on platters of seafood, tuck into freshly made sushi, or try other, delicate dishes. Book Le Voyage as soon as you can,  this is an experience to savor and should not be missed if you love food. And to be honest, sun in your room might not matter, as the Retreat area for suite guests has an extra deck and more space, as well as a larger lounge. Luminae, the suite restaurant, is also nicer and larger, with better views.

The Sunset Bar at the back of the ship is the most notable renovation on Celebrity Beyond. American designer Nate Berkus has transformed the space into a terraced, two-deck area heavy on Moroccan and Mediterranean influences. In the evenings, Grand Plaza transforms into the ship's social hub with live music performances. The 3-deck-high Grand Plaza (open-floor designed midship area) is larger which allowed the Martini Bar to be moved to the venue's center (on Lobby level/deck 2) as a full-circle bar. Inside staterooms measure in at between 181 and 202 square feet, and each inside stateroom is sleek and modern, for an upscale, hip hotel feel (the same as you’ll find throughout all the staterooms).
